Reading B: Ramayana B

Bharata Returns

He is heartbroken to find his dad dead and brother exiled. 

Dasharatha's Funeral

Bharata had to plan the funeral for his father before telling Rama. People were showering the king with gifts.

Rama and Bharata

Bharata finds Rama and tries to relieve him of his duties. But Rama could not accept.  

The Sandals

Rama got a pair of golden sandals and Baharata vowed to stay in the wilderness until Rama could come out.

Anasuya

Sita talked about her birth and how she sprung up from the earth and Rama won her love. 

Viradha

The three run into a mean man (evil)that wants to drink Sita's blood, so Rama and his brother battle him and win. 

Agastya

Rama meets Agastya and he gives him a sword and asks him to stay but Rama wants to go deeper into the forest. 

Shurpanakha and Rama

Shurpanakha tries to seduce Rama. He tries to set her up with Lakshman, his brother. 

Lakshmana and Shurpanakha

Shurpanakha went to her brother and said she as laughed and that she wanted Sita's blood.

Battle with Khara
Khara came after Rama, Rama had his brother and wife go into a cave. Rama sought the weapons and killed Khara. 

Shurpanakha and Ravana

Shurpanakha goes to her brother Ravana and tells what has happened. He is furious to know that his sister was laughed at.

Ravana and Maricha

 Ravana wants Maricha's help him abduct Sita.

The Golden Deer

They lure her with a golden deer taken on by Maricha.

The Chase

Rama kills the deer but Ravana tricks Sita into thinking Rama is about to die. 

Ravana and Sita

Ravana tried to disguise himself as a guru. He then exposed himself. 

Jatayu and Ravana

The Jatayu, a bird tried to save Sita from the evil Ravana but tried his best. She was taken away into the sky and left a piece of jewelry for Rama to find her. 

Sita in Lanka

Brahma has a protection on Sita so that she cannot be raped by Ravana. Rama is ready for revenge. 
 

Rama and Jatayu

The bird told Rama where Sita went.

Kabandha

Tells them that Sita is in Lanka.

Shabari

Waits for Rama because the gods told her that he would come. He then goes on to do her funeral.
