Bharata Returns He is heartbroken to find his dad dead and brother exiled.  Dasharatha's Funeral Bharata had to plan the funeral for his father before telling Rama. People were showering the king with gifts. Rama and Bharata Bharata finds Rama and tries to relieve him of his duties. But Rama could not accept.   The Sandals Rama got a pair of golden sandals and Baharata vowed to stay in the wilderness until Rama could come out. Anasuya Sita talked about her birth and how she sprung up from the earth and Rama won her love.  Viradha The three run into a mean man (evil)that wants to drink Sita's blood, so Rama and his brother battle him and win.  Agastya Rama meets Agastya and he gives him a sword and asks him to stay but Rama wants to go deeper into the forest.  Shurpanakha and Rama Shurpanakha tries to seduce Rama. King Dasharatha: There are two kingdoms: His kingdom is mighty but he could not have kids. Dasharatha's Sons: Two women were sacrificing animals for Dasharata and 4 sons were promised to him by the gods. Rama: Avatar of Vishnu: Ravana   was invulnerable to gods.  Vishnu  divides himself into 4 to be Dasaratha's sons so that he could defeat Ravana. Rama was the prettiest. Vishvamitra: Rama and his brother went out to destroy Ravana with Vishvamitra's help. Thataka: Rama destroyed a wicked lady that had evil abilities.He was blessed with weapons that would appear when he wanted them. Kamadeva, The God of Love: Godoflove This article was very interesting to me. I do not know much about this story but I know that it involves love and love is something that comes easily to me to talk about. The other part that drew me in was the god riding a chicken with a bow and arrow. I thought it was cute and funny. Eight Things Students Should do when they make a Mistake: 1.You should know that everyone is in the same boat. We all struggle and we need to learn how to help each other with love and criticism.  2.People want to help!! Crazy, right teachers actually want you to become better.  3. It is all about perspective, learn that they aren't attacking your character just how you put the wording. You are still smart and creative.  4.Learn how to fix problems instead of quitting and pouting.  5. Ask for people to look over your work, they can give you another insight and help with creativity. 6. Find your happy place, there needs to be balanced. Don't stress yourself out.   7.Take a moment to chill, set aside you time to relax and refocus on what the road will bring.  8.Be friendly, just because you are down doesn't mean you need to bring someone else down. Anxiety Annie was a cute pig who was always scared of everything. She was all alone and new she always was a worrier. She was so scared that one day she thought the earth was falling and would fall into another Galaxy. She tried to go to sleep but she couldn't stop thinking about how the world was going to fall. She thought of what she would do if it did and how she would deal with it. She finally fell into a peaceful sleep but was rudely awaken by the earth rumbling. THE FOOLISH, TIMID RABBIT:  Jataka Tales by Ellen C. Babbitt. Rabbit The main character freaks out because of a misunderstanding. He jumped to a conclusion before he looked at the facts. THE TURTLE AND THE KING: Jataka Tales by Ellen C. Babbitt, Turtle The story is about the main character about to die because they do not know what he is and then they throw him into the water where he lives. A little later two geese want to help him go to a better home but he just can't talk. A few minutes in he talks and falls to his death by the feet of the people that wanted him dead. THE CUNNING CRANE AND THE CRAB: The Giant Crab, and Other Tales from Old India by W. H. D. Rouse. CrabandCrane The crane was tricking innocent fish and nothing was being done and then finally the crab stepped up. He outsmarted the crane and took a different direction. Ramayana: Ramayana This is one of the first books that stood out to me. The name and the fact that I can listen instead of reading was a very good selling point. This story seems so interesting and so intricate. I am hoping to learn history and the culture of India by reading these stories. I am so excited to listen to this story! The Psychology of Checklists: ThePsyofChecklists I love checklists and this article was all about how your brain loves you when you do. It makes the work that you do fun and exciting because at the end you get to check it off. That dopamine will start flowing and your body reacts very well to it. So we need to start making more checklist because our brain will want to get more done because of all the rewards it is getting. I already use checklists but I did not know of the great benefits. I may not be the best with technology but I can use most of the tools suggested to use and I have also used a few of the tools before this class. I am not the best with technology but I would love to learn more about website publishing and graphic creations.  I am hoping this class will be able to help me get a better job because I know how to use these tools. My first impression of the course is that I am a little nervous.  There is a lot to do and so little time for me. I am most intrigued by the semester-long assignment and hopefully, it will be about the beaches. I have never had to blog before so that is a first and it is just a different setup than any other class. I like to think this will be a challenging and fun class. I have never heard of Carol Dweck and/or the growth mindset before. It was very interesting to learn about it. I learned about other theories like this one and how it helps students. I would have loved to have seen this used in my school. I grew up in a very small town and if you did not get the material they moved on without you and did not encourage you. I try to always push past my boundaries with lift, running and even learning in college. It helps me not to get frustrated and try to think outside the box. In college, I  learned that I wasn't as dumb as I thought. It took me lots of growing and lots of tears. My biggest challenge was that I did not know what I was capable of and no one had ever pushed me until I pushed myself.  I would love to use the growth mindset into my own life and learn more about it especially for my major. My name is Elizabeth (Izzy) Cottrell and I am a Psychology major with a minor in Enterprise Studies: I will be graduating in May 2018. My major is one of the best, I get to interact with people and get to know them. I have the honor to see into people's lives and help them improve their lives. The psychology department is one of the best and the professors really want to help and teach you. Last semester I took research with Dr. Fuenzalida and did a study over Tulsa Police Officers (which I am engaged to one). It was a cool experience to see how these officers are being trained to do the best and think on their feet effectively.  Alongside with that, I took my capstone with her also and got to volunteer with the Youth and Family Center. This was my biggest accomplishment because I got to work with these kids and just have fun with them. Gambling & Curses Loses: Real  Love Wins : Gambling&CursesLoses I have never read Indian Storybooks before as this will be my first time. The title really does it justice for the story; it is exactly what it says. A young woman was among five other men and she did not believe in real love. Through the story, she began to. I love how through cultures and times love is always there. The layout of the story is also interesting there are pictures to help tell the story: this one is my favorite. The website was not one of my favorites because of the lack of colors, I feel like it should be more colorful. Naples One of my favorite places to be is Naples, Florida. My mom was born and raised in Florida and ever since she moved to Oklahoma we have gone every summer for vacation. It is a place that feels like home because of the salty air and the warm breeze .  The sunsets look like yummy cotton candy, the food tastes better there and the family is so much sweeter.
