My Opinion on Growth Mindset

I have never heard of Carol Dweck and/or the growth mindset before. It was very interesting to learn about it. I learned about other theories like this one and how it helps students. I would have loved to have seen this used in my school. I grew up in a very small town and if you did not get the material they moved on without you and did not encourage you. I try to always push past my boundaries with lift, running and even learning in college. It helps me not to get frustrated and try to think outside the box. In college, I  learned that I wasn't as dumb as I thought. It took me lots of growing and lots of tears. My biggest challenge was that I did not know what I was capable of and no one had ever pushed me until I pushed myself.  I would love to use the growth mindset into my own life and learn more about it especially for my major. I have no goals for myself, I have super high anxiety so I tell myself that whatever I can do is good enough. I am taking 18 hours so I am a little nervous about that and working 30 hours so I am hoping to survive with a positive attitude. I feel like this would help me not get as frustrated and realize I can do more.

  1. Hello again, Izzy!

I agree with your stance on the growth mindset: it helps you understand what you are actually capable of. I admire the image you used but I think it could use a more descriptive caption. Good luck with your 18 hours of coursework! I look forward to reading more of your stories.
