Week 4 Story The Hungry Dinosaur

There once was a village that had many dinosaurs that were all different shapes and sizes. They all loved and cared for each other except Rex. The biggest of them all was the Rex. He was great and mighty. He would destroy everything if he ever got mad so the village decided to give Rex a sleeping spell. He could only awake if someone truly needed his help. Which made the village prosper and grow many baby dinosaurs.
The village was living peacefully when a group of people wanted to destroy them for their skins. The Dinosaurs were so scared because they did not have a lot of fighters so the village wished that Rex would come out of his spell and help them in battle. The village prayed and prayed for the Mighty Rex to come out and help them win the battle so that the babies can grow up.
Rex destroyed every human that wanted their skin and after it was all done he went back to his cave and began to sleep until the next time they needed him. The village cheered for the glory that Rex brought but they were also heart broken that he would not celebrate with them but be sleeping until next time. They chanted
" Ohh great Rex sleep so well, until next time we need you , we will destroy"
(Steffens, Rex)

Author's Thoguhts:
I wrote this story based off of the Kumbhakarna, He was a mighty warrior that would destroy eerything if he was not in a deep slumber. So their people put him on a 6 month sleep but had to wake him early to fight the Apes that are with Rama's poeple. I liked the idea of an animal that we are all scared of and that isn't around today. I wanted to add some magic in there and some humor. Hopefully you enjoyed it.

  1. I love your version of Kumbhakarna! I have read that comic and it is very interesting! I like how you used a T-Rex to represent the giant. I also like the dialogue you put into the story. The part you put in there about the village people needing the T-Rex's help so there babies could grow up is a perfect fit for this story. I can't wait to read more of your work!!

  2. Hi again! Your version of this story is really good. I read another story about Kumbhakarna earlier. It is really cool getting to see people's perspectives on these stories. I like how you changed Kumbhakarna into a dinosaur. That was really creative. I liked how you kept the detail of his being woke up only when someone needed help. To elaborate, what if you put the story in Rex's perspective? Overall great story!

  4. Hi! I loved your version of this story and the spin you put on it! It was a super creative take about Kumbhakarna. I like how you made it about a T Rex, because they were the biggest and scariest dinosaurs around and could destroy everything if they wanted to.
