Reading Notes B: Sita Sings the Blues
Part B:
SitaSingstheBlues
In this part of the story, Sita told Rama that she is pregnant and he banished her because he thought it was Ravana's child, not his. He pretty much throws a hissy fit. She goes to a village where a man teaches her kids songs about Rama. Rama comes and finds his kids and Sita asks to come back. He demands that she does a purity check and she goes back into the mother's womb. Pretty much saying she was pure and that he was stupid.
